My friends and I escaped to the cabin for a mid-week get away. It was great!
We look like we could be a band. Heather would be the lead singer, but I would be lead guitar/back-up vocals!
We drove to the top of the canyon and hiked down a couple of miles. It was beautiful. We saw hundreds of butterflies feeding in a field of wild flowers, a view from the top of the world and endless amounts of blue sky. What a breath of fresh air this hike was!
Heather dove for the snake which was enjoying a calm, comfortable afternoon along the stream. Floor and Amanda were so creeped out by her display of "down and dirtiness" that they squeeled upon sight of the slithering serpent.
It feels like I have a full-fledged day care in my back yard. My sis and her family are in Oahu which gives me the privilege of hanging out with PJ this week. Munchkin and Markie are having such a great time playing with P'jers and they are learning a lot from him too. He is about 6 months older than M&M and his speech is through the roof. I am hoping that PJ will have Munchkin speaking in complete sentences by the end of the week. We love you PJ!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa. I was so glad to help celebrate your special day. Just being with you makes me feel wonderful. You are my best friend in the whole world and I love you tremendously. Thanks for letting me help blow out the candles on your cake (14 times). I had a super time at your birthday party.

The birthday party proved to be a huge success. Thank you to all who came and showed Munchkin their love and support. I had a great time and I hope everyone else did also.
Munchkin enjoyed his time at the birthday party. He had his own chocolate cake, giant blow-up water slide, plenty of presents and lots of love. What fun!
Munchkin always has such a good time at Evergreen Park. For his birthday we took him on a picnic to this shady childrens' paradise.

Ryan James, you are two years old today. These past two years have been filled with more happiness and joy than I ever knew possible. You have given your family so much just by being you. Your smile brings sunshine to our hearts, your laugh is contagious beyond belief, watching you run and jump proves that there is hope and beauty in this world. You make every day an adventure worthy of looking forward to. The chance to watch you grow and learn all that this world has to offer is a gift and I promise to never take you for granted.
Your accomplishments in the past year are mind blowing. You not only walk like a pro, but you run and jump too. Daddy bought you a trampoline which you spend many hours on, practicing your jumping and somersaults. You love spending all of your time out-doors. You have a riding John-Deere lawn mower which you adore. Although you haven't quite figured out how to steer, you enjoy driving around in circles none the less. Your vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. I call you a little mimic, you repeat everything you hear. We really have to watch our language around you!!! Grandpa says that he will die if you get expelled from kindergarten for repeating something that your heard him say. Watching you grow and learn is a valuable life lesson for all those around you.
Ry, you make me so proud. Everything you do and are is more impressive than I could have dreamed a two year old would be capable of. I am so glad to be your mother, I love you more than words can express. Happy Birthday!
