Prodigy

We have always known that Munchkin looks up to his Grandpa. Grandpa has a concert-grand piano of his own at his home which Munchkin has seen him play.
We bought Munchkin a "baby" grand piano and it was uncanny how natural he was with the instrument. We should have known that he would be the next pianist of the family.

Happy Birthday, Amanda

Amanda, I hope you enjoy this special day. You are a wonderful sister-in-law and I love you. Make sure to take time from your busy schedule and find a minute to pamper yourself. It will most likely be during nap time, but do something you totally love. Happy Birthday!

Movies

I have had the pleasure of viewing some exceptional movies lately. Here is what I've found.

1) An Unfinished Life: This movie displays wonderful character development. My favorite character is the local Grizzly Bear. Munchkin growled at the top of his lungs each time he saw the Grizz.

2) Little Miss Sunshine: This movie shows a disfunctional family which comes together to help eachother in times of need. Little Miss Sunshine had me in uncontrollable histerics to the point of tears.

3) Clerks II: Vulgar and crude. Need I say more? I absolutely loved it. This movie is NOT intended for sheltered individuals or parents! It helps to have seen Clerks I, but the sequel does provide a solid story line of it's own.

No, Munchkin doesn't watch T.V.

I've always prided myself on raising a television-free child. My opinion of the television is that it is a mind numbing bad habit. I have developed this opinion by observing my own couch-potato behavior. One needn't be introduced to such habits at this young, innocent age. The longer I can prevent Munchkin from realizing that the T.V. exists the better chance he stands at living a healthy, active life.

He's caught glimpses of educational DVD's in the past, but hasn't ever shown an attention span that lasts longer than one minute. He prefers to be playing outside or in his toy room.

It turns out that he just didn't have a comfortable place of his own to enjoy such entertainment. When he saw that his car seat had been placed in the living room, he thought that life as he knows it had just been drastically improved. It was as though I had told him that money does grow on trees, or that he can have cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

He immediately found a comfortable spot in front of the television and didn't move for a whole five minutes.

Note to self: Get the car seat out of the living room or else your child doesn't stand a chance at ever seeing the outdoors or the toy room ever again.

The 6 Foot Snowman

Jeremy is the best snowman builder in the world. When most people stop at three tiers, Jeremy feels the need to do more. This is a four tier, 6 foot snowman. WOW! Posted by Picasa

Oh, The Weather Outside is Frightful!

Yesterday we got slammed with snow. What better way to enjoy the weather than to get messy in it. Warm snow suits, mittens, caps and hot chocolate make for a perfect snow day. Posted by Picasa

December 25th

Christmas day was magical. Munchkin enjoyed opening his presents and playing with his new toys, but better than any new toy was the love that was shared amongst family.
Merry Christmas, Munchkin! Posted by Picasa

December 24th

New Christmas jammies were given to Munchkin by Grandma and Grandpa on Christmas eve. He slept as snug as a bug. Posted by Picasa

December 23rd

Santa was a hit at the Christmas party. Upon his surprise entrance with bells jingling and Santa's jolly "Ho, ho, ho", faces of young and old lit up. Everyone wanted to make sure that Santa knew just what they wanted for Christmas. Posted by Picasa

Congratulations, Kristen!

My niece, Kristen, has just accomplished her degree in psychology. Although she is going on to earn her PhD, we felt the need to celebrate her accomplishments thus far.
Crissie and I invited everyone we could think of. Friends and family came to celebrate this major mile-stone. There were friends of Kristen's whom we had never met, they turned out to be nice people. Nick and Paige came too, which was awesome. Posted by Picasa

New Things

Cute, new things Munchkin is doing:
1) Pointing at the moon and saying "Moo"
2) Running at top speed swinging only his right arm.
3) Oohing and aahing over Christmas lights scattered around the city
4) Flirting with girls who work in department stores
5) Enjoying chai to its fullest capability
6) Pushing everyone aside to reach for Grandpa
7) Giggling more and more each day
8) Identifying animals in books
9) Making animal sounds: Moo, Meow, Growl, Neigh...
10) Giving kisses to all his toys, but not Mama
